Arie van den Ban, founder of Van den Ban Autobanden, has passed away

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arie van den Ban, founder of Van den Ban Autobanden. Arie passed away on 2 June 2026 following a short illness.

Entrepreneurship and vision

In 1968, Arie van den Ban laid the foundations in Hellevoetsluis for what would grow into an internationally operating tyre wholesaler and distributor. Through his entrepreneurial spirit, vision and determination, he built Van den Ban Autobanden into a leading player in the tyre industry. Throughout his career, he was a familiar face to many both within and beyond the company, and an inspiring entrepreneur to all who knew him.

Under his leadership, the company grew from a local business into an international organisation serving customers both in the Netherlands and abroad. Much of what Van den Ban Autobanden is today, and the organisation that has since become part of Global Automotive Group, finds its origins in Arie’s vision, decisions and entrepreneurial spirit.
